My gran always gets things muddled up. Rabbits mistaken for foxes, children mistaken for penguins, hairdressers mistaken for taxis - you know how it is, when they get to that age. Their eyes start to go. Mrs. Whatshernameagain probably just crashed that old car into a streetlamp or something. You know how it is when they get to that age, didn't ought to be on the road. Didn't ought to be in Homebase either. Triffids and Audreys - daffodils and hosepipes, that's all. What a racket, jesus. Well, what can you do? You know how it is.. when they get to that age.
Homebase horror. I go into that place and see the plants and see the beige, the horrible beige (why is everything in those shops bloody beige?) and something in the part of my mind where the old film reels are kept clicks on. And I look longingly at the sad little venus fly traps with their teeth like needles and think about how nice it would be, how nice if the Triffids came here just for a day.
Close - chopsticks (I've lost all the forks.. probably under the bed with all the spoons). It's acrylic and watercolour mostly, I think. Thanks for your comments!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Homebase... ever noticed how it makes homes sound like vending-machine donglies (only less bouncy/chewy/pointless)?
