Artist's Comments

It's a funny sort of thing, but those aeroplane contrails really lift my spirits. Seeing lots of aeroplanes at night, all shiny and red like bats' eyes in the dark - that scares the hell out of me (I'm sort of an armchair environmentalist). There shouldn't be so many, not over a city like Edinburgh.. there's not the population for it to make sense.
But seeing them all on those cold, clear days, leaving their ice trails way up high - I don't know. Probably it's because they're a symptom of the good kind of days; winter days, when sound stays in the air for a bit longer than it should and the cars seem further away than they are, and the sun shines through your window onto the floor. And you remember how it was, before you knew about The Aviation Industry and their polar bear destroying lasers. Look, airyplane! Trailing silk and sunshine over your grey Scottish house from Japan (Glasgow) or India (Gatwick) or some such (Heathrow). Magic unzips the sky! And toxic waste falls out. It's enough to send a girl mad, I tell you.

Now look, I've talked for too long about aeroplanes and you can't even see them in this picture, the scanner's so bad. It's because I used white acrylic, it must be reflective or something technical like that. No matter.

I adore the way the blue and pink mingle and mix. The way you used the brush to portray the scenery gives it such a lush and chaotic vibe. The kid on the very bottom staring upward just adds to the overwhelming emotions of the piece. This is absolutly fantastic!

i agree with ~moejo wholeheartedly -it's a fantastic piece dear! totally beautiful:clap:
although i have a slightly different attitude to the view of the lots and lots airplains above my old city i must confess. :love:i totally love the view, it looks powerful and ads some modern feel to our beautiful yet still almost medievally looking city, and i've also got a kind of proud rebelious feeling while seeing airplaing filling the sky, a kind of "hehe, look God! look how humans took control over the sky, the so-called your domain", it always reminds me when i first time got on the plane and it took off and i felt as if the new 4rd dimension of the world opened for me :excited: so according to me - the more airplanes the better, they're so beautiful breath-taking machines!

Lovely, and I do see the aeroplanes and their trails, even from over here in Australia (Antwerp).

I was wondering where you tool off to.

Excellent! I love the texture! Try taking a photograph of it under natural lighting without flash... I guess I really want to see a crisp image of the exciting thickness of the paint! :D

Lovely, Aimee! The jet trails look like hope for a tired land! Sort of a dawning of the age of aquarius! :)
